On the Agbara-Lusada Motorway in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, an unidentified female passenger fell off the motorbike and was crushed to death by a vehicle.
An eyewitness named Kunle told the reporters that the collision happened at the highway’s Cashier Bus Stop at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Kunle, the motorbike was trying to pass the truck when the collision happened.
He claims the woman was crushed by the truck after falling from the motorbike.
“A woman who was a passenger on a motorbike was involved in the accident,” he stated. The female passenger slipped and was crushed by the truck when the motorbike attempted to pass it.
In a phone call with our correspondent on Sunday, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence.
According to Akinbiyi, the cars in question were two motorcycles without visible registration numbers and a white Howo truck with the license plate T-34611LA.
He claimed that eyewitnesses claimed that a female passenger fell beneath the vehicle when one of the motorbike riders tried an improper overtaking.
“The Okada rider’s improper overtaking caused the RTA/RTC, which resulted in one of the Okada passengers falling beneath the truck and losing her life,” Akinbiyi stated.
Three men and two women were among the five individuals engaged in the collision, according to Akinbiyi, and two people—a male and a female—were hurt.
He mentioned that before TRACE personnel reached the scene, a kind Samaritan transported the injured people to a hospital.
Akinbiyi also stated that the truck was placed into police custody for additional examination, and the deceased’s remains had been removed by her family.
He claimed that after responding to the situation, TRACE agents and PAPA OSCAR responders were able to restore regular traffic movement along the motorway.
