Arsenal confirmed on Tuesday that they have come to an agreement with Turkish Super Lig team Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian striker Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal stated: “We can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard.”
The club stated that “after a transfer fee was settled, Leo, 31, has been allowed to travel to Istanbul to take a medical exam and finalize the details of his transfer to the Turkish Super Lig team.”
The Gunners stated that another announcement would be issued once the transfer procedure is finalized.
It stated, “We will offer another update once the transfer is finalized.”
The transfer is anticipated to conclude Trossard’s time at Arsenal, pending the successful completion of his medical and other transfer procedures.
In January 2023, the North London club officially presented Trossard as an Arsenal player.
The 28-year-old athlete became Arsenal’s initial signing of the January transfer window after completing his move from Brighton and Hove Albion, with a £27million agreement reached that included add-ons.
Punch Online states that Trossard departs as a Premier League champion after aiding the Gunners in securing their first English top-tier title in 22 years last season.
He also won the FA Community Shield with Arsenal in 2023 and was instrumental in the club’s journey to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.
On the global front, Trossard emerged as one of Belgium’s key players at the current 2026 FIFA World Cup, netting two goals against New Zealand in the group stage, allowing the Red Devils to reach the quarter-finals, where they faced elimination by eventual finalists Spain with a score of 2-1.
Simultaneously, the Turkish club confirmed the winger’s arrival with a photo posted on its website on Tuesday.
It posted with the caption, “Leandro Trossard reaches Istanbul.”
