Despite recent failed attempts by other elite European teams to entice the Nigerian away from Turkey, Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur is apparently prepared to enter the competition for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
The north London team has identified the Nigerian international as the missing piece in their attacking puzzle after already becoming one of the largest spenders in Europe this summer.
The North London club has already made significant investments this window, spending more than £230 million on fresh talent. The management is keen to add more firepower before the deadline, but additions like Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke have already arrived.
Spurs are willing to make a bid of £65 million, according to CaughtOffside. However, considering that Osimhen is a top player for Galatasaray, is in his prime, was signed for €75 million or £65 million, and has a contract that expires in 2029, that amount may prove ambitious.
Osimhen has stated that he will only leave the Turkish team if they want him to depart, and the club has valued him at €150 million.
Spurs have now obtained “sporting approval” to “begin formal negotiations” for Osimhen’s signing, according to CoughtOffside.
Additionally, it was stated that there is a sense that coming to a personal agreement “would not create a major obstacle.”
In the last four years, the 27-year-old has assisted in leading his teams to three league championships. After winning Serie A with Napoli in 2022–2023, he went on to win consecutive Super Lig titles with Galatasaray in 2024–2025 and 2025–2026.
Over the last four seasons, Osimhen has made 145 appearances in all competitions and scored 107 goals. He has 16 goals in 27 games in the more competitive Champions League.
Premier League teams like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea have been keeping an eye on the Nigerian, but no deal has come through.
Additionally, he has been connected to moves to Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
