In order to boost industrialization, draw in investment, and increase economic prospects in the state, Dangote Industries Limited is collaborating with the Niger State Government.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer, said in a statement that the business is working with the state government on a number of economic projects.
According to the announcement, Dangote Rice Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government for the delivery of paddy rice over the next ten years, in addition to supporting the annual trade show.
”Dangote Rice Limited has committed to a guaranteed off-take of one million metric tons of paddy rice, which Niger Foods will supply to boost food sufficiency in Nigeria, in accordance with the MoU,” it stated.
Based on the statement, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, the Regional Director and Senior Advisor to the President and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, stated that the company’s rice mill construction in the state was moving forward.
“On a 30-hectare site in Wushishi, construction of the 32 metric tons per hour Dangote Rice Mill is moving forward steadily and is on schedule for completion. “This historic project is a major advancement in supporting the state’s food security initiatives,” she stated.
“The mill is anticipated to improve local rice production, generate employment opportunities, and support Nigeria’s agricultural development upon delivery.”
Wali-Abdurrahman added that the company’s Strategic Business Units were taking part at the Niger Trade Fair’s 22nd edition.
According to her, the participating business units were Dangote Cement Plc, NASCON Allied Industries Plc, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, and Dangote Fertilizer Limited.
Inquiries on the Dangote Refinery, the company’s Vision 2030 program, and other commercial operations were also handled by a separate desk, she said.
The Niger National Trade Fair, which will open on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with the subject “Public Private Partnership as the Panacea for Nigeria Economic Growth and Stability,” is mostly sponsored by the Dangote Group.
According to Adamu Salihu, Director-General of the Niger Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, this year’s expo is anticipated to draw over 300 exhibitors, including corporate executives, legislators, and investors from all over the nation.
“Dangote is industrializing not just Nigeria but all of Africa, the Niger Chamber of Commerce will use the Trade Fair to elevate and promote Dangote achievements to Nigerlites, Nigeria, and Africa,” he stated.
“One of the main reasons the Niger Chamber of Commerce organizes the event every year is the Dangote Group’s consistent participation in the annual Niger Trade Fair,” Salihu continued.
“Believing in Nigeria and investing in its enormous potential is one of the most significant lessons Nigerian businesses can learn from Dangote Group’s audacious investment agenda. Indigenous businesses must take the lead in promoting industrialization and economic expansion if we are to build the Nigeria of our dreams.
Although foreign investors can contribute significantly, their main goal is to produce profits that will eventually be sent back to their home nations. On the other hand, local investment generates long-term value through capacity building, job creation, and sustainable national prosperity.”
Niger State would have to establish 25,000 hectares of commercial rice farms as part of the agreement, according to Niger Foods Chairman Sammy Adigun, who also stated that the project would continue for ten years and generate 50,000 direct jobs.
