After losing her three children in a terrible tragedy in the Ogbunabali neighborhood of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a widow named Amarachi Promise Esomonu has called for justice.
The three toddlers were killed when the lady driving the car crashed into the family’s home as the unidentified male was reportedly teaching his girlfriend how to drive.
The event happened on May 15, according to a local resident who spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to the source, the children were three, four, and ten years old, respectively.
When it occurred, they were at home in Ogbunabali. A young man was instructing his girlfriend on driving. People began yelling at her while she was driving. The automobile had collided with the woman’s home before we realized what was going on.
Her three children died as a result of that. It hurts a lot. The source continued, “The mother has been crying uncontrollably because the children were all in school.”
Our correspondent saw the distressed mother sobbing hysterically and demanding justice in a widely shared video on Wednesday.
Mrs. Esomonu said she thinks about her children every day and bemoaned the lack of concern exhibited by those responsible for the catastrophe.
The bereaved mother claimed that every weekday morning, the alarm she typically sets to get her kids ready for school still goes off, but the kids aren’t there.
“I think of them every morning when I wake up. My alarm goes off every day, but I have no kids to get ready for school.
Their murderers are at ease. They’re not saying anything,” she sobbed.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Grace Iringe-Koko Agabe, the public relations officer for the Rivers State Police, confirmed the occurrence and stated that Olugbenga Adepoju, the commissioner of police, had ordered a comprehensive investigation.
Agabe expressed his condolences to the departed family and stated that the unfortunate event had caused widespread sorrow and anxiety throughout the state.
According to her, the CP assured the family that justice will be done and offered his sympathies.
