To improve preparations for the 2027 gubernatorial election, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress’s candidate for governor of Oyo State, has authorized important appointments into his campaign organization.
Following Chief Yemi Aderibigbe’s previous appointment as Director-General of the Campaign Organization, the appointments demonstrated the candidate’s dedication to an inclusive and goal-oriented campaign organization.
In a statement released in the state capital of Ibadan on Thursday, Alli, the senator for the Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made this announcement.
According to the announcement, “Hon Sola Ogunbode was appointed Deputy Director-General under the new arrangement to support the Director-General in coordinating campaign activities across the state.”
Barrister Lowo Obisesan for Oyo South, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape for Oyo Central, and Hon. Rasaq Raji for Oyo North Senatorial District have also been appointed as Assistant Directors-General.
“The appointments are anticipated to strengthen the campaign’s preparedness ahead of the state’s 2027 governorship election, deepen grassroots mobilization, and improve coordination across the three senatorial districts,” he continued.
The legislator expressed confidence in the appointments’ ability to lead, their abundance of political experience, and their dedication to helping the APC win the upcoming governorship race.
“Let me reassure all our party men and women that this campaign will be inclusive,” Alli continued. There won’t be anyone left behind. Each ward, local government, and interest group in our party has a part to play in this endeavor.
“The APC family is one.” We have a big task ahead of us, but if we work together, we can accomplish it,” Alli stated.
Raji is an APC chieftain and grassroots politician. His hometown is Igbeti in the state’s Olorunsogo Local Government Area.
Ashimiyu, a graduate of metallurgy, served as Minority Leader from 2019 to 2023 and Speaker of the state House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, he served as a Special Advisor under the late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Under the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, Obisesan, a lawyer and senior chief of Ibadan, served as Commissioner for Environment. Black & White Law Chamber was founded by him.
