A Danish court, on Friday, June 23, 2023 has sentenced former Golden Eaglets star and FC Copenhagen of Denmark forward Akinkunmi Amoo to one year in prison for sexual assault.
Former BBC World Football reporter, Osasu Obayiuwana, in a tweet confirmed the news of his sentencing.
He tweeted; Akinkunmi Amoo, the @FCKobenhavn striker, was given a one-year jail sentence by a Copenhagen for sexual assault on Friday. Amoo is appealing the decision”.
The winger has been in the eyes of the storm when he was slammed with criminal charges by Danish authorities in April, July, and August 2022.
He was arrested on September 10, 2022, before being released on bail on October 7.
