Singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, has accused Nollywood actor Charles Okocha of biting him during their recent celebrity boxing rematch. Okocha has denied these allegations.
On Friday, the two faced off at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos. Okocha prevailed after Portable was disqualified for breaking the rules by switching from wrestling methods to punches before leaving the ring.
After the fight, Portable claimed Okocha locked his neck and bit him on the back, saying he shouldn’t have taken part in the fight.
In response, Okocha refuted the accusation on a Tuesday appearance on TVC Entertainment, stating that he was unable to bite his opponent since he was wearing a mouth guard during the battle.
“Portable has been telling folks that I gave him a back bite. How is that even possible when I had a mouthguard on? He was simply lying,” Okocha remarked.
The actor went on to say that he had no justification for biting the singer.
Instead of biting him, I would prefer to nibble grass. I wish to avoid contracting rabies. Have you noticed the appearance of Portable’s skin? I would never do that. He said, “He should just concede.”
The two performers had previously engaged in a boxing match.
In a celebrity boxing bout at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2023, Portable defeated Okocha and won the championship belt.
Carter Efe, a skit maker, just defeated Portable in another celebrity boxing match.
Following the loss, he claimed that his opponent had used his long arms to hold him by the neck. He also requested ₦200 million in compensation from the organizers, stating that his wife was giving birth when he was in the ring.
