Reports that the 66-year-old Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, better known by his stage name Ogogo, had passed away have been refuted by his daughter.
On Tuesday, a Facebook user claimed that one of the actor’s daughters, Haleemah Taiwo, had declared his passing, sparking a death rumor on social media.
“Haleemah Taiwo just posted that her father, Mr. Hassan Taiwo, has passed away after being rejected by different hospitals,” the user claimed in a Facebook post. His wife, kids, and grandkids survive him. May he rest in peace. At last, he has left.
Lima Taiwo, one of Ogogo’s daughters, refuted the news as untrue and urged people to cease disseminating the assertion.
Reacting on Instagram, she commented, “This is false!!!!!!! This is untrue! This is untrue! This is untrue! This is not real. Please refrain from disseminating false information.
The explanation was provided a day after Lima and her sister, Kira Taiwo, each made heartfelt pleas for support for their father, who is suffering from cancer.
Lima revealed that the actor’s health had gotten worse and claimed that some hospitals had refused to keep treating him in a video posted on Instagram on Monday.
She fought back tears as she pled with hospitals, doctors, and anybody with access to cancer treatment centers to help the family.
Lima stated that Ogogo’s outward appearance had not immediately suggested the severity of the illness, and that the family had only learned of the seriousness of the ailment approximately three weeks prior.
She emphasized that the family was looking for medical support for their father rather than cash gifts.
Kira said in another heartfelt video that her father’s disease was in stage four and that the hospital treating him had told the family that chemotherapy was no longer an option.
Hospitals, cancer specialists, and other medical professionals who could provide therapy were urged to come forward by Kira.
Kira stated that she was still committed to finding a means to get the actor treatment and asked anyone who could help him to get in touch with her or her sister.
