A male adult known only as Golden has been declared dead after being shot by unidentified attackers in Lagos State’s Igando neighborhood.
A police source told the reporters on Thursday that the incident took place in the community’s Fatoki neighborhood on Tuesday.
The attackers, who were reportedly two in number, entered the neighborhood on a motorcycle to look for the deceased.
After finding him in the vicinity, the attackers are said to have shot him.
When our men arrived at the site after receiving a tip that someone had been shot on Fatoki Street, they discovered the deceased lying lifeless in a pool of blood. After being brought to the hospital, where his death was verified, he was then escorted to the mortuary, according to the source.
However, while an investigation was still underway, the authorities were unable to reveal the incident’s reason.
Confra Naija, an advocacy platform against cultism, stated in a post on Thursday that the incidence had to do with business.
“Golden was identified as the victim in that incident,” it stated. Sources revealed that the attack was a commercial issue concerning Yahoo money rather than a cult, despite the fact that two cult groups (Aye and Vikings) were named in this occurrence.
Golden was sitting outside when the assailants rode onto the street on a motorcycle and shot him in the head, according to the site.
Calls to the Lagos State Police Command’s spokeswoman, Abimbola Adebisi, remained unanswered. By the time this report was submitted, she had not responded to a text message given to her.
The tragedy happened just five days after suspected cultists in Lagos State’s Sangotedo neighborhood shot and killed a shawarma vendor known only as Andy.
