As part of its continuous immigration enforcement actions, the United States deported Ayodeji Ajayi, a Nigerian national, after he was found guilty of several crimes, including domestic abuse.

In a statement released on its official X account on Tuesday, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed that Ajayi had entered the nation illegally on a student visa almost twenty years prior.

“Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country,” the organization states.

ICE claimed that Ajayi developed a long criminal history rather than leaving the US after graduating from school.

“Instead, he stayed in the US and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet,” the agency said, citing convictions for intimidation, obstruction, trespassing, and domestic abuse.

It further stated that accusations of “kidnapping, rape, and family neglect” are part of his criminal history.

President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies were blamed by the agency for the deportation.

“Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly, thanks to @POTUS’ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country,” it stated.

The agency said that Ajayi will be deported, but it did not reveal the date of the deportation or provide more information on the offenses, such as the location of the convictions or the status of the other criminal charges.

The deportation takes place in the midst of the Trump administration’s ongoing campaign against undocumented immigrants with criminal histories, as immigration officials increase enforcement efforts and removals nationwide.
