Niger State Police Command has taken into custody four alleged ex-convicts turned robbery gang members in Minna, the State Capital.

Presently being held at the Crack Squad office, the suspects Yahaya Mohammed, Ayuba Simon (also known as Douglas), Menasse Makama, and Nuhu Azuka (also known as Junior) are providing the police with information regarding their illicit activities.

A police public relations officer, SP Wasiu A. Abiodun, released a press release stating that on April 15, 2024, at approximately 0250 hours, police officers got a report regarding an armed robbery incident at a residential building in the Brighter Schools neighborhood of Minna.

After robbing the victim, the perpetrators drove off with other items and a Honda Odyssey vehicle.

The suspects were apprehended by the police using community and technical intelligence, and they later admitted to the crime and previous armed robberies.

They had previously served jail time for their offenses.

From the suspects, the police retrieved a POS machine, a Samsung TV, two standing fans, a Honda Odyssey vehicle with registration number AG 400 PAK, and other valuables.

The suspects are still being investigated, and when it is finished, charges against them will be brought before the court.
