In the Jos Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, the disfigured body of an unnamed woman was discovered close to a creek.
Around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, the find was made after security personnel received a distress complaint.
Our correspondent was informed by security sources that the woman’s relatives had reportedly declared her missing after she did not return home.
After the family reportedly started looking for her, her body was found close to a creek in the forest reserve.
According to the sources, the woman had what looked to be machete slashes on her face and arm.
Security personnel were notified as soon as the body was found, according to a park employee who verified the occurrence to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity since he was not permitted to comment on the subject.
The employee stated, “We woke up and found the body and immediately contacted the security operatives.”
“The security personnel came to the scene and commenced their initial assessment while efforts were made to establish what happened,” he continued.
In order to ascertain the facts behind the woman’s death and whether criminal elements were involved, security authorities have reportedly started an inquiry.
Attempts to get official confirmation from Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, and other security agencies had failed.
